About Us
History
Polo is a game of Central Asian origin that was first played in
Persia. The exact date of its origins is unknown, but it is
believed to have been played as early as the 6th century BC.
The game was originally used as a training exercise for cavalry
units, and it wasn’t until later that it became a popular sport.
Polo remained relatively obscure until the 19th century, when
it was introduced to Europe and the United States. Today, polo
is played in many countries around the world and is enjoyed
by people of all ages.
The Founder
The Cave Creek Equine Polo Club was founded by Dr. Martin
Vidal, committed to the sport of polo and other equestrian
activities.
Dr. Martin Vidal, also the owner of Cave Creek Equine™
Sports Medicine & Surgery, is Board-certified in Equine
Surgery as well as Board-certified in Equine Sports Medicine.
